We run 2 rallies - the Albar Kames Trophy Rally in July and the Galloway Hills Rally in December (in conjunction with Machars and Solway Car Club). We also run Rally Time Trials within the Kames complex - the cheapest way to get into rallying.
Albar Kames Trophy Rally
The Kames event is grass roots rallying - a low cost event aimed at the clubman with the 2009 event being a single venue rally held within Kames.
Galloway Hills Rally
The Galloway Hills Rally, run on the first Sunday in December, is one of the largest forest rallies in Scotland with entries from south of the border and Ireland as well as the usual Scottish contingent. The event is based at Castle Douglas and uses 5 stages, usually all well known from the Scottish Rally. The event uses a verycompact route with typically 40 forest stage miles and around 30-35 miles between stages. This means that the service crews have a relatively easy time compared to other major forest rallies.
There is a first class social nature to the event with most entrants and support teams staying in the area over the weekend. The first car leaves Castle Douglas at 9.30 am and is back around lunchtime giving time for the prize giving and socialising in the afternon. Everyone, even the Irish and English boys, can be home at a decent hour - a civilised event indeed!
